Welcome to our Club Movies page! These files are VERY LARGE. If you don't have High-Speed Internet Access (or a day or two to let your Computer download one file), don't bother.
Even with HSI these take a while but there was no point in putting these out there for people to watch without rendering them in the highest possible resolution. We apologize for the time "issue" for both those with and without HSI.
All Movies are currently rendered in Windows Media Player "WMV" Format.
Just Click on a Title to view a file.
We will be constantly adding to this site.
Please check back from time to time and ENJOY!
Iowa's Fireworks Concert, Amana, IA August 28, 1999 A Show sponsored by J&M Displays of Yarmouth, IA
We are a Teaching Club dedicated to the Safe use of all forms of Pyrotechnics. This video shows one of the dangers of Pyrotechnics that we constantly warn of. No matter how much you prepare, something can (and WILL) go wrong when you least expect it.
The Actual Clip of the "Operation Thunderking" incident is less than two minutes long. Prefaced by Club Co-Founder Gene Zdrazil, total running time is just over 5 minutes. Gene explains what "Operation Thunderking" was, how the Club Prepared for it..... and how things went Spectacularly WRONG!
Running Time: 05:30
Load time: Not Totally Ridiculous ...
June 26th, 2004. Riverside, IA
This show was our Annual Mid-Year Club-Shoot which we took "On the Road" (about 5 miles or so as the crow flies).
Staged in Riverside, Iowa on the final day of "Trek Fest 2004", this was a fun one to do! Set to a "Star Trek" Theme, (what else?) we setup a little vignette which ends with the destruction of a "Klingon War Bird" and that's just the beginning of our continuing mission to
"Boldly go where no Pyro has gone before".
Crank the Sound up and enjoy!
Running time: > 24 minutes

Johnson County 4H/FFA Fair - 2004
July 29th, 2004. Johnson County Fairgrounds - Iowa City, IA
This was our 3rd Year at the Johnson County Fair. The Fair's Theme was "Pure Country Fireworks".
The Soundtrack was just that... Pure Country. This show starts out slow with a ballad from Clay Aiken and ends with a "Balls out" (and somewhat modified) Rendition of a great old "kickin'" tune, "The Orange Blossom Special" for the Finale (in 1:33 no less!)
Note: We Stopped this show just before the Finale when a cake (which had inadvertently gotten set angled toward the crowd) shot debris out over the viewing area.
The show continued only after asking the Crowd whether we should or not. This just goes to show that field setup cannot ever be "over-checked".
Shot Manually to the Soundtrack on TWO Firing Panels by Club Members Chuck Hart and Andy Harris, this one turned out nicely!
Running Time: >23 minutes
Load time: LONG

In 2005, the Kick-Off Show for the Annual PGII Convention was staged by members of the Iowa Pyrotechnic Association.
The Members of the Stumptown Shooters are proud to have helped (as Iowa Pyrotechnic Association Members) to Design/Plan, Build Product, Setup & Shoot the 2005 IPA show.
IPA members worked on this show for over a year and put our all into it. It turned out very well.
We invite all of you to watch it here on-line.
It showcased products from fireworks vendors and manufacturers from around the world and one of the 8 songs in the soundtrack featured 100% IPA Hand-Made Product.
Our choreography theme was based on Mason Citys dual claim to fame arising from early Rock & Roll and Mason City born Meredith Willsons world acclaimed Musical Masterpiece The Music Man.
From Phil Collins' "Welcome Song" from the Movie Soundtrack "Brother Bear", into Wynonna Judd's GREAT Creamora (Fireball Effect) song "Burnin' Love" from the "Lilo & Stitch" Soundtrack
We then continued our trip down 50's Rock and Roll Memory Lane with a trio of songs from "The Big Bopper", Ritchie Valens and Buddy Holly, then continued back through time to 1900's turn-of-the-century "River City, Iowa" and the wonderful music of a true Broadway classic at it's finest!
All of the Members of the IPA helped make a great impression on our peers from around the world that made them want to bring this International Convention back to Iowa again (and again).

Tribute to the US Troops
September 17th, 2004
Hawkeye Downs Speedway Cedar Rapids, IA
This show was the "capper" to a two day seminar for Fire Department AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) Training in Cedar Rapids, IA
After 2 days of classroom instruction and demonstrations by some of the best Pyros in the country, AHJs from around the country got to go out and "Play with some Pyro" as (most) set up their 1st ever Fireworks Show to see how the "other half" lives.
Coupled with a Product Demo by J&M Displays of Yarmouth, IA, the show was Choreographed by one of the best, Marc Thannert of J&M Displays. Shot with the MAGS DIGITAL "Easy Fire" Computerized Firing system manned by MAGS DIGITAL President Paul Myers.
The "stage" was a 1/2 mile asphalt racetrack and Marc & Paul took full advantage of the entire backstretch placing mines and comets in "fronts" that stretched the entire width of the track (900+ feet). Because of the great width, this video was shot using a fish-eye lens to get all of the fronts in the shot and rendered in 16:9 wide-screen aspect ratio.
The Product Demo showed why J&M is one of the Premier Fireworks Companies in the nation with exquisite shells from their "A" stock. Introduced by F.E.S.T Co-Founders Scott Bemer and Gene Zdrazil with Product Demo and Show announcing by Mr. Monte Whitlock.
We think you will enjoy seeing what a great Firing system and excellent choreography can achieve in the way of Pyro Magic.
Enjoy!

September 22, 2007 - Iowa Pyrotechnic Association Annual Fall Picnic Shoot
Vinton Iowa at the Benton County Fairgrounds
(Opens to the Public at Noon)
2007 Marked the inaugural event and the IPA did things in grand style as Pyros from all across Iowa, members from Illinois, Minnesota and other surrounding states converged on the small (and unsuspecting) town of Vinton, Iowa.
This show was one to be remembered!
Co-sponsored by the IPA and the City of Vinton, this event was called "Boomtown Vinton: TNT on 218"
It featured activities like a Farmer's Market, Live Music from Five Area Bands, a Beer Tent (our IPA shooters went there only AFTER we were done shooting of course!), Local Vendors and of course plenty of Fireworks from the IPA Membership and a Choreographed show after the Builder's Demo.
This was a Membership Drive for the IPA which we have turned into an annual event. If you are an IPA Member, please come out and play.
If you are NOT an IPA Member - 2008 is the time to join!
With the current wave of Governmental and private organizations trying to end our hobby, the only answer to the fight we have is through sheer numbers of hobbyists standing together and through the good will and Public support that positive publicity events like these garner.
Please try to make the next one and show your support for the Hobbyist Pyro cause.
We are pleased to host the video of this show here on our site. We invite you to view it to get a feel for what you missed last year and urge you to make plans to attend this coming September.
The 2008 event will be held on September 20, 2008 at the Benton County Fairgrounds in Vinton, Iowa. Please plan to make a day of it and join us that evening for another great Pyro Show!

Dick Mordaunt Memorial Fireworks Show
November 24th, 2007
Springville, IA
This is a Medium Quality Streaming Video Media Player File.
Presented in 16:9 Wide Screen Format
This show was a memorial send off of a member of the Stumptown "Family".
One of the last requests of one of our original "Stumpies", Mr. Richard Mordaunt
It was held at the family's home in Springville and represented a monumental effort to put together a 'fast-track' show. Without the efforts of a huge number of people, companies, local and county government and agencies, this show would not have been possible. To all involved, our deepest thanks.
It was a choreographed show with 10 segments to the soundtrack.
We hope you enjoy it!
Running Time: 35 minutes
